You Are An Overcomer

2009 was a tough year. But you survived. You did more than survive, you moved forward. With plans to make 2010 a more successful and prosperous year, recognize the true grit it took to start your business or keep your business going in such tough times. You may not have realized it before now but as a solopreneur in this environment, you are an overcomer. Every day, you get up and move your business forward, you awaken to who you are and what you have to offer, and you accomplish just one more thing to build a strong foundation for your solo business.

As an independent business owner, you understand the power of your thoughts, attitudes, emotions, actions and reactions. To persist and succeed, each in our own way, we learn to control them and use them effectively.

When times are tough, the tough get going.

When you are wavering, here are a few reminders to be a successful overcomer:

  1. Know that you were created for success, not failure. Never permit your mind to dwell on the negative side of things. ‘If you can conceive it and believe it, you can achieve it.’
  2. Do not wait for things to happen. Be pro-active. Cause them to happen. Think, speak and act affirmatively. Put the Law of Attraction to work.
  3. Train yourself to realize that there is nothing outside you that has the power to harm you. Control your imagination. Keep it focused on innovation and solutions.
  4. View challenges, difficult people and adverse conditions with detachment. Stop overreacting to the things that happen to you. Take your business seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously.
  5. Don’t give credence to what others think or say about you. Release Negative Nelly or Complaining Carl from your support network.
  6. Stay focused on your clients’ needs, not yours. What you give your attention to, grows. Get the proper balance between yourself and other people.
  7. Stay grounded in knowing your worth. Know that you and what you offer have value and that there is a niche for your particular expertise, that only you can fill.
